Sea warfare Rudyard Kipling Books
This little book is a piece of propaganda from the First World War, for which Kipling has interviewed ratings and officers of the plentiful small craft of the Royal Navy, e.g. minesweepers, destroyers and submarines. Despite the obvious slant caused by wartime censorship and the requirement to portray the "Brits" as more chivalrous than the "Huns", the stories says a lot about the non-glorious everyday chores of military men one hundred years ago, including matters I had never heard of before, such as the Royal Navy submarine operations at the waterfront of Constantinople during the Gallipoli campaign. Rudyard Kipling rarely failed to write well and here he did a competent journalistic job to bolster the morale at the Homefront. I write dieselpunk stories and this book will provide me with background material in future stories.Product details

Sea warfare Rudyard Kipling Books Reviews
This was a very intertaining book. I love reading it. Just good all around product. I have read it several times.
I rate this book highly because it tells about sea warfare during the first world war. It is very interesting to see how war was conducted and the hardships they faced back then.
Purchased as a pre-read book and found a WWI poem clipped from a 1915 NYC newspaper tucked into the pages. Neat bonus. Book itself is classic Kipling. Fascinating narrative on the experiences of British submarine and destroyer crews during the conflict, taken from COs reports and his own observations.
Actually a short book about the Battle of Jutland in WWI. Some informative stories of British Warships.
Written during the First World War this is a fascinating read. Be prepared to look a few words up on the ol' iPad because Kipling is describing things that are no longer in use (the technology has changed after all) and 1915 was a different world. Once you're past that you'll love the gritty reality of his writing.
Good detail on the ships in the British Royal Navy during World War One.
If you are a sailor and spend your time on the sea,you are going to love this book. Stories abound of heroes and hard work. In my paintings of the sea at anthonydunphyfineart.com you can see them there as they lived and went about their duties.
